‘Autumn at Hagans’ is an original wool painting of one of my favorite haunts. Made in blends of wensleydale and merino wools, tussah silks and remnants, free machine stiched and hand stiched this piece is very close to my heart. The rich autumnal colours of Gullion make my heart sing and each day brings something new
Hillwalker’s familiar with the ring of gullion will recognise this little house as one of the highest dwellings on Slieve Gullion. My mother had a lemonade and sandwhich stand here in the 1960s before the scenic drive closed during the troubles. It has the most glorious views for miles around but I think the house and background are the star of its own show.
The wool painting is free floating in a locally crafted deep off-white box frame that compliments the colours and textures beautifully.
