Description
‘Where the Fairies Dance’ is an original wool and silk painting from the ‘Along the Loanin’ 2023 collection by Cushla Of Gullion made with hand dyed wools, silks, threads and remnants. A vibrant Irish landscape celebrating the arrival of Spring along the hillsides.
The hawthorn in blossom is a first sign of Spring in Ireland and synonomous with indiginous folklore of the Sí or wee people otherwise known as Fairys. An Crann Sí or the fairy tree is protected and revered in our traditions. This lovely piece full of vibrant texture, is a starting point for many a story and a beautiful reminder of the Irish Hillsides. I made this piece in honour the Irish Fairy Tree. Who would not love to sit ‘Where the Fairies Dance’?
