‘A New Path’ is an original wool painting and was made as part of the ‘La Bealtaine – Ar Slieve Gullion’, Caóilfionn’s first solo collection. Take a gentle stroll along a woodland path and delight wave away the stress of life.
Revisiting old childhood walks along the river from Forkhill in South Armagh across an invisible border to Urnaí North Louth and sharing stories and songs along the way was a delight during lockdown and was the inspiration for this piece. Creating new memories from old ones. An age old path trod by poets O’Doirnin and McCooey now trod by much smaller feet, yet equally as magic with minds full of wonder. The summer light through the trees casting a magical glow captures our imagination as we wonder where this new path will lead us.
